Alpine strawberries are humble, peaceable plants. They thrive on neglect and produce tiny berries from June until October. A dozen plants will produce a scant handful each day but they pack an intense berry punch that puts the bigger strawberries to shame. Each afternoon when PappaLoo returns from work, he and Miss LoodyLoo forage for a few berries along the walkway to the door. It's a nightly coming home ritual that both love and will soon come to an end with the first hard frost. So of course, when I found this buttery soft corduroy with alpine sized berries online, I had to get it.

Another Japanese NY Style Kids reversible pattern later, and MissLoo was outfitted for a winter afternoon tea with Pappa when the only berries available will be the ones on her dress.

For the reverse lining, I found this red and cream swiss dot fabric at a local store and I think it recalls the juicy ripe colors perfectly.

You know, for when she ends up wearing the tea instead of drinking it...
