Blooms and shoes

It must be Mother's Day this weekend, the fancy tulips are blooming and my mom needs new slippers. Funny how the life cycle of a house slipper is almost exactly one year -- do they do that on purpose, do you think? I've decided to make my own this time and see.
Actually, these were called "room shoes" in the book blurb. The pattern is from next monday's book post, if I ever get around to scanning it instead of using it, so I won't say much about it except that it's from the Japanese stack.

Flannel, fleece, microsuede and canvas -- there's a lot going on in there, but of course, I tweaked the pattern to make them reversible. Ha, that ought to add a few more months at least!
Happy Mother's Day, Mom/MeMe!
