ISBN 978-4-579-11184-8 or ISBN 4579111842 has the best alternate title translation I've seen yet -- "Clothes for Those Who have just Learned to Walk" -- I hope you'll forgive me for shortening the title to "Clothes for Toddlers". Not quite the same ring, but easier to remember.

There's nothing startling in here -- cute clothes, cute kids, clean designs -- but it's the size range that makes this book special. 100 cm seems to be the starting size for most of the best Japanese kid's sewing books, but "Clothes for Toddlers" fills a niche between baby and big kid with sizes ranging from 80 to 100cm.

Same format as most with pull out traceable patterns, basic drawn directions, and interesting detail -- note the shoulder closure on this blue shirt (click for close-up).

The sweet little line drawings throughout the book are a nice touch and there are a few boy basics too. As mother to a daughter that seems perpetually stuck at 80 cm, I think I'll be using this book a lot in the foreseeable future.

Thank you for all the detail on this book, now I must have it!!
Me too! I have a daughter stuck between size 68 and 74, however I will settle for a book that starts at size 80cm. I like alot of pictures you have shown.
Just found you through Crafting Japanese (which I just found through angry chicken). Thanks for this review! My daughter is also too small for 100cm and it's killing me not to be able to make these for her. I've made a few pieces from Japanese books anyway, just because I can't bear not to, but would dearly love something she can actually wear now.
