So did the well written and precisely drafted pattern. These shorts were actually a pleasure to sew and they came together without any fudging of edges or 'make do' short cuts. Nice.
The gorgeous orange linen I used was a scrap of Ikea curtain I needed to shorten. A lot. This fabric sewed up so beautifully you can bet I'm going to stock up on curtain 'yardage' next time I'm in Stoughton. The buttons are vintage leather ones that miraculously are washable... um... at least so far.
Of course, then the problem came up of what does one wear with bright orange linen shorts?
No, she doesn't stop knitting even during a heatwave. That's why she has air conditioning.

A-DORABLE! Seriously. Both of them. And the color is heavenly. I haven't gotten any sewing or knitting in this summer. Well, a row here or there, but nothing to mention.
What a lovely outfit. I'm going to have a go at those shorts and the racer back top is now on my ravelry queue. Thank you for the inspiration!
Love the color clash! Yes, you did need to make those! --L
